Most likely Shu Uemura code locations
For Shu Uemura, start with the box bottom. If the outer box is missing, move to the bottle base and then the compact base.
Check the label around each marking to distinguish the production lot from product references; position and character count alone do not identify a lot.

Numbers to ignore
Do not enter the retail EAN/UPC product number, shade number, SKU, ingredient registration number, or volume marking as the batch. Some scannable codes contain additional fields; use only an explicitly identified lot field, not the entire scan.
If several Shu Uemura codes appear, identify the production lot from its label and the instructions for that product. Length alone cannot identify it. Keep every mark with its original location and never trim a longer identifier to make it fit.
When the print is hard to read
Embossed or low-contrast batch codes are easier to read with side lighting. Take a photo, zoom in, and preserve leading zeroes, separators, and letter case.
If the box and container disagree, check whether one string is a product reference. Preserve both markings separately while confirming their purpose.
Shu Uemura product and package context
Inspect cleansing-oil bottle bases and rear labels, pump collars, skincare jars, tube crimps, mist bottles, compact backs, lipstick and mascara bottoms, refill pans or cartridges, and cartons for a compact production mark. A 150 or 450 mL size, shade such as RD163, product-page number, barcode, collaboration name, price sticker, or the words refill and limited edition identify a retail variant rather than its batch.
Calligraph:ink sells a pen body and ink cartridge separately; Naginata Brow:Sword and pressed eye shadow have replaceable formula components; and a palette or holder may outlast several refills. A cleansing-oil family name also does not identify one formula: ultime8, brightOil, anti/oxi+, Porefinist, and Botanicoil use different ingredients and may be sold in travel and full sizes. Check each consumable refill or kit item independently.
