Soft Color hair dye: carton and component codes

Soft Color is Wella's ammonia-free hair-color range. A kit contains color cream, developer and conditioning treatment. Keep the batch record attached to the particular component, even while those items remain together in one retail box.

Soft Color FAQ

Is Soft Color 20 or 80 a batch number?

No. In this range, 20 Black and 80 Light Blonde are shade references. Look for the separate production marking on the actual pack.

Can the carton code represent every Soft Color component?

Record the carton and each component separately. The cream, developer and conditioner are distinct items; do not assume their visible marks are interchangeable.

Can I keep the mixed color cream for another application?

Wella's application directions say to use the color cream immediately after mixing. A batch-date result is not an instruction to store the prepared mixture.

Reading a Wella Soft Color coloring kit

Before you rely on the decoded date

  • Before mixing the color, compare the carton with the color-cream tube, developer bottle and conditioner sachets. Record each production mark separately, noting whether it came from a tube seam, bottle, sachet or box. Do not combine their characters.
  • Numbers such as 20 Black and 80 Light Blonde identify shades. The numbered application steps and component labels explain how to use the kit; neither should be entered as the manufacturing lot.

Common lookup mistakes

  • Keep the shade name and market-specific instruction leaflet with the batch record, especially when comparing two boxes bought in different countries.
  • Follow the kit's allergy-test instructions before every coloring. Wella calls for a skin allergy test 48 hours beforehand; a recent production date does not replace that precaution.

What to check next for Soft Color

For Soft Color, combine the decoded date with product type, PAO, storage, and seller context before deciding whether to open, keep, replace, or buy.
