Check Aquaphor batch code and expiration date

An expiration date on Aquaphor is a deadline to follow, not a date that a batch lookup can extend. Healing Ointment is a 41% petrolatum skin protectant; lip care with SPF serves a different purpose. Match the product and its label before using the batch code to check production age.

Aquaphor FAQ

Where is the Aquaphor Healing Ointment expiration date, and what does the batch code add?

Follow the expiration on your own Healing Ointment package. A decoded production date cannot renew that deadline. For a package without a readable date, ask Aquaphor with the product name and lot; do not assign it the date from a different tube, jar or lip product.

Can ointment and spray be judged alike?

No. Direct-contact ointment has hygiene concerns, while pressurized spray also depends on can integrity and valve performance.

Is the tube size a lot code?

No. Volume is standard product information shared across units, not a traceable mark for one production run.

Is Aquaphor Lip Repair the same as the SPF lip product?

No. Match the full name and SPF statement on the label. A Lip Protectant + SPF product has sunscreen directions; use its own dated packaging instead of borrowing guidance from non-SPF Lip Repair or Healing Ointment.

Aquaphor ointment, lip care and package dates

Before you rely on the decoded date

  • Check tube crimps, jar or stick bases, rear labels, and cartons. Size and barcode are not lots.
  • Healing Ointment comes in tubes and jars, and Baby Healing Ointment is another separately labeled product. Keep each container's own date and lot together rather than transferring a deadline from a different size or from a Baby Wash & Shampoo bottle.
  • Lip Repair and Lip Protectant + SPF are different products. For a sunscreen lip product, read its expiration and Drug Facts directions; an ointment's manufacturing date does not establish how long the sunscreen remains usable.
  • If an Aquaphor date is missing or unreadable, keep the full product name, UPC and manufacturing lot for a question to Aquaphor. Its contact form accepts the manufacturing code and expiration date as separate fields.

Common lookup mistakes

  • Use clean hands or a clean applicator and keep caps free of residue.
  • Do not use a leaking, corroded, unusually scented, or contaminated package.
